Vibrato is an important ornament in most styles of singing and yet the details of the vibrato mechanism and vibrato types have not been widely explored or discussed. In this workshop, Lisa will demonstrate various types such as classical, pop, jazz, Chinese, amplitude, wobble, flutter, and jittery vibratos and will compare them to straight tone vocal production.  Methods on the pedagogy of vibrato will also be outlined, such as slowing a too-fast vibrato, speeding a too-slow vibrato,  the challenge of the aging vibrato and fixing a jittery.  The action of the supra-hyoid muscles in various vibrato types will be discussed.
